Primer and finish-coat allowances appear in your estimate after you add cabinet components. Materials are added once to this cabinet project.

The current starting allowance is 1 gallon of primer plus 1 gallon of finish for up to 17 doors, drawer fronts, and panels; larger sets start with 2 gallons of finish. Large projects, cabinet dimensions, frames, color changes, and additional coats may need more.

Before you pick a color.

Can my existing cabinets be painted?

Suitability depends on the material, condition, and existing finish. Choose the condition option in the calculator if your cabinets are laminate, peeling, or damaged. Vidar will review the preparation and coating options before confirming a quote.

What does my estimate include?

Your selected doors, drawer fronts, frames, and exposed side panels, plus the calculator’s primer and finish-coat allowances. Inside shelves, cabinet interiors, new hardware, and unusual repairs require separate review. Final measurements, preparation, coating quantities, access, and any applicable tax are confirmed in your written quote.

Do I have to know my exact color?

No. Pick a direction now and add any color ideas in the notes. Screen colors are a guide; final colors and sheen are confirmed with physical samples.

What if I’m not sure how to count my cabinets?

Count each door and drawer front individually. Count each cabinet box or exposed frame section once, and each visible end panel once. You can also call Vidar at 941-504-1423 to talk through your project.

Does emailing my estimate book the work?

No. It saves your plan and sends a copy to Vidar for your enquiry. Scope, schedule, and your written quote are confirmed separately.
