A rental refresh is a chance to look at the whole room: the walls, the ceiling, and the trim. Our Siesta Key vacation rental project shows how those pieces came together.
Dark green to Extra White was a big change for this Siesta Key vacation rental. The goal was a fresh, bright interior that suited its beachside setting. We repainted the walls, sprayed the existing popcorn ceiling, and refreshed the trim.
If you are thinking about repainting a rental in Sarasota or Siesta Key, here are a few things to include in the plan, using this job as an example.
Start with the color change
For this project, we primed the deep green walls with Sherwin-Williams ProBlock before applying two full coats of Duration in Extra White. The primer and finish coats were separate steps in the repaint.
When planning your own project, tell us what color is on the walls now and what you would like to change it to. We can look at the existing surface and work out the preparation needed for that particular room.
Include the ceiling and trim in the conversation
On this rental, the ceiling texture stayed in place. We sprayed the popcorn ceiling with Sherwin-Williams Eminence ceiling paint. This was a ceiling repaint, not a popcorn-removal project.
We also repainted the trim using Emerald Urethane Trim Enamel. Looking at these surfaces together helped us plan a complete interior refresh, from the ceiling down to the baseboards.
Before you schedule a rental repaint
- List the surfaces. Decide whether you want walls only or also ceilings, doors, and baseboards.
- Share your booking dates. Let us know when the property is available and when the next guests arrive so we can discuss a realistic work window.
- Plan access and protection. Discuss furniture, personal belongings, keys, and any building access rules before work begins.
- Choose colors before the job starts. Look at your preferred colors in the rental itself and confirm the finishes included in the estimate.
